Applications for the next International Astrocyte School are officially open and the deadline is 19 December 2025. The School is aimed at all those who are attracted by the most intriguing hypotheses on the role of astrocytes and other glial cells in brain function and wish to learn how to best approach these problems. After more than a decade, the School continues to focus on disseminating state-of-the-art knowledge and is especially targeted at young scientists beginning their careers in this field. Senior scientists wishing to refresh their glial background are also encouraged to apply.

In 2026, in Bertinoro (Italy), top-level researchers and 35 selected students will come together for an intense one-week course, with particular emphasis on Glia in Health and Disease. Applications are open until 19 December 2025. Additional information is available through the School’s website.
